Getting to Tignes
Chambéry Airport is the closest of all the international airports in the area. The airport is around 135km from Tignes and is the closest airport to be picked up from.
The route from Chambéry to Albertville is all toll roads so early in the morning its a breeze just clear motorway until the foothills of the resorts.
From Albertville you carry on the N90 to La Bathie then Moûtiers. Traffic can build in Moûtiers so its always good to travel in and out of resort either early or late in the day.
After Moûtiers you will driver past the Paradiski ski area and on to Bourg St Maurice. This is the end of the line for the snow train from London. Traveling up from Bourg to Tignes will take another 45 minutes, in heavy snow conditions many motorists will be asked to put their snow chains on about half way to Tignes.
