Getting to Val d’Isère

The distance from Grenoble airport to Val d’Isere is about 220 km. there are two route to choose from either using the A43 to go via Chambéry or via Grenoble city.

We monitor traffic at the weekends when its the business and choose the best route at that time. Which ever why you travel most of the route is on rolls roads.

Once you have reached Albertville you head in the direction of Moûtiers then half an hour or so after that you come to Bourg Sainte Maurice.

Bourg Sainte Maurice to Val d’Isère is about 30 km, its a wonderful part of the trip climbing the snowy mountain and stunning views. We understand people worry sometimes in these conditions but it's good to know that our vehicles and drivers have it all in hand and are as we call it "Alpine Ready".

You drive up past Tignes Les Brevieres on your right and then past Le lac du Chevril and the Tignes Dam. There is a large ice wall on the left between some of the tunnels just before you reach the resort. On arrival Val d’Isère its great to see the resort spread out in front of you a truly wonderful spectacle.

Travel tips:

Saturdays are very busy and we always give good time to get to and from the airport. We recommend traveling either way in the mornings to avoid traffic that builds up in the day. Sundays and weekdays tend to be clear.

Keeping on top of things is our job and we find Radio Val d’Isère a great way to keep in the loop.
