Lyon Airport to Les Menuires

Lots of people search for a bus or coach from Lyon to Les Menuires. Shared coaches do run in winter, but they leave at fixed times, stop at other resorts along the way, and usually drop you at the bus station rather than your door.

With a private transfer, the minibus leaves when you land and goes straight to your apartment. For a family or a group of friends, splitting the price often makes it better value than you'd expect.

Ready for snow. The road up from Moûtiers climbs over 1,300 metres. Every minibus is four-wheel drive with winter tyres, and our drivers make this climb all season.

From Lyon Saint-Exupéry, we take the A43 motorway east, past Chambéry, to Albertville, where the 1992 Winter Olympics were held. The road then continues up the Tarentaise valley to Moûtiers, the gateway to the Three Valleys.

The climb to Les Menuires

From Moûtiers, the road winds up the Belleville valley, passing the old village of St Martin de Belleville with its stone chalets. About 40 minutes after Moûtiers, you reach Les Menuires at 1,850 m. Reberty is just a little further on.

Saturday traffic

Saturday is changeover day in the Three Valleys, and the A43 and Moûtiers get busy in the afternoon. If you can, choose a morning flight into Lyon. It usually makes the journey noticeably quicker.

Your journey home

For the return to Lyon, we usually collect you around 5 hours before your flight. We'll text you the exact pick-up time the evening before, and may come earlier on busy weekends or in bad weather.

We fit baby seats, child seats and boosters free of charge. Just give us your children's ages when you book, and remember to count each child as a passenger.

Stock up on the way

We can stop at the Carrefour in Moûtiers, just before the climb, so you can buy your week's food at valley prices. Add a shopping stop when you book.

How far is Les Menuires from Lyon Airport?

Around 200 km, or about 2 hours 30 minutes by road. Allow a little longer on peak-season Saturdays.

Is Lyon or Chambéry closer to Les Menuires?

Chambéry is closer, at about 1 hour 30 minutes, but it has fewer flights, mostly at weekends. Lyon has many more flights and often lower fares. We cover both. See our Chambéry to Les Menuires page.

Is there a bus from Lyon to Les Menuires?

Yes, shared coaches run in winter, but they follow a fixed timetable and stop at several resorts. A private transfer goes straight to your door, at a time that suits your flight.

Do you go to Reberty?

Yes. We drop off throughout Les Menuires and in both Reberty 1850 and Reberty 2000.

What if our flight is delayed?

We track your flight, so your driver will know. The first 90 minutes of waiting are free, and after that it's €25 an hour if the driver's schedule allows.
