Journey from Geneva to Courchevel

Our transfer driver meets you in the Geneva airport arrivals area situated in terminal 1, the Swiss side of Geneva airport.

We follow the A41 towards Annecy, then drive around the proximity of Lac d'Annecy (Annecy Lake). This is a very picturesque part of the journey, if you are lucky enough to be travelling in the day time. The mountains rise up from behind the lake as we drive, so you will start to feel that you are close to the Alps.

After Annecy we pass the city of Albertville on the motorway, and once on the main road we pass the small town of Moûtiers, just after which we start to make our climb up the mountain. We pass Brides-les-Baines and wind our way up to Courchevel, hitting Courchevel 1650 and Courchevel 1850 first.

From the main road to Courchevel itself is about 30 minutes, so you can start to get excited for your ski holiday!

If you're flying in to Geneva late, why not book yourself a Geneva airport hotel? Mountain Rescue can pick you up first thing the next morning.

About Courchevel

French ski resort Courchevel is the most eastern resort in Les Trois Vallées (The Three Valleys) and is one of the largest linked ski areas in the world.

Located in the commune of Saint-Bon-Tarentaise in the Tarentaise Valley, Courchevel is just over two hours from Geneva airport.

The resort comprises six towns:

  • Saint-Bon
  • Le Praz
  • La Tania
  • Courchevel Village
  • Moriond
  • 1850 (or Courchevel 1850), the first French ski resort in to be built from scratch and the highest resort in the area.

Plans for the Courchevel resort began during World War 2 and developed after the war ended, over a number of years.

Le Praz hosted the Olympic ski jumping and Nordic skiing competitions during the 1992 Winter Olympics, while the town of La Tania was built to provide accommodation for competitors.
