Nestled in the Chablais mountain range and only an hour and a half’s drive from Geneva to Morzine and is a is a fantastic resort to visit with lots to offer.

Skiing in Morzine

Morzine  is a charming village situated at 900 metres with great skiing for all levels and connected to Les Gets and Avoriaz ski resorts as part of the Portes du Soleil ski area.

Beginner Skiers

Complete beginners, Green and blue run skiers will love Morzine. If you’re a complete beginner get yourself booked into a ski lesson and let the instructor guide you for the first week.

If you have a week or more in the pocket You can find lots of mellow greens and blues around the Morzine and Les Gets areas. The main green slopes in Morzine can be found at the top of the Pleney bubble as a good place to start.

Another good lift giving access to some nice long greens is the Avoriaz Proclou lift.

Intermediate Skiing

Morzine and Les Gets are both excellent for the intermediate skiers, in fact it’s a great place to improve your skiing to a higher level and clock a lot of KMs if that’s your thing.

A tour of the Portes de Soleil will take all day so if you are on a weeks holiday and don’t want to spend more time on the lifts than on your skis your probably best to stick local and get the most out of the Morzine area.

Get you carving on some of the great pistes around Le Pleney or for more of an mini adventure head up the Mossettes chairlift check out the views over to the dents du idi and then ski red and blues runs down to the Swiss resort of Les Crosets.

The Best Advanced Skiing in Morzine

Get the full portes du Soleil area pass to give you access to the best stuff. Check out the black runs in Mont Chery, Grande Comes and the super challenging Le Pas de Chavantte known as the Swiss Wall.

If you’re thinking about off piste then obviously with all the correct gear and a guide head to Nyon and Chamossiére ski peaks for some untracked (or maybe a few) bits of powder heaven.
