St Martin de Belleville is defiantly one of the most unspoilt ski villages in the Tarentaise valley with a close proximity to Les Menuires, access to the 3 Valleys ski area and a new super fast lift its a cracking resort to spend some time this winter.
The village has been developed over recent years and has kept a great feel and the beautiful 16th century church as the village’s flagship structure.
St Martin de Belleville was a farming village until the 1980’s when several chairlifts where added linking it to the slopes of Meribel and Les Menuires.
The skiing is of course extensive being part of the massive 3 Valleys ski area and the village enjoys several long rolling local runs and access to every type of skiing anyone could ask for.
With the St Martin Express going into action in the 2015/16 winter season it certainly speeded things up. The 6 person, high speed chairlift is 2404 meters in length and is a bit of a winner for this lovely resort.
For the skiing, experts will enjoy the large areas of off piste as well as the descent run form the Roc de Fer to the village of Beranger. Intermediates can get stuck into the very enjoyable rolling blue and red runs such as the Jerusalam and the Verdet. There is a small nursery slope for beginners as well as a gentle blue to get first timers up and running.
Things we like:
- Quiet off piste for the adventurous
- The Church at night
- Long gentle slopes to the village
- Good snowmaking get up
- Cracking catered chalets
- The St Martin Express lift
