Resort guide

The local lifts start at 1250 meters and elevate to a very impresive 3200 meters. There are 425 km of runs to enjoy over the complete Paradiski area and the villages themselves have a traditional un spoilt feel and many of the chalets enjoy direct access to the pistes.

Montchavin and Les Coches are two lovely ski villages nestled on the hillside close to La Plagne and joined directly to Peisey Valladnry and Les Arcs by one of the largest single span cable cars in the world the Vanoise Express.

Montchavin situated at 1250 meters has a real farming feeling about it with lots of charming buildings and places to stop for the odd van chaud. Slightly up from Montchavin is Les Coches at 1450 meters
it has great access to the pistes from many of the chalets and only a few lifts to be swinging up to some of the best off piste in the area.

Both villages have excellent ski schools and facilities for kids and plenty of places to rest on your way home after a hard days skiing. There are plenty of quality English owned chalets here all with wonderful views across and the valley.

What we like:

  • The Vanoise Express
  • Amazing views
  • Exciting tree runs home
  • Good beginners area
  • Highly recommended ski schools
  • The village feeling
  • Quality English run chalets
  • Family friendly skiing
