Resort guide

The station of La Rosiere is located close to the Italian boarder and forms part of the L’Espace San Bernardo skiing area. The area has an amazing snow record and continues to be a very popular resort with families.

The village itself is situated at 1850 meters and is a great place to stay with friends in one of the many English run chalets that are situated there. This area is renowned for its good snowfalls due to its position as well as catching a good amount of sunshine due it being a south facing resort. It also offers the chance to ski into the Italian resort of La Thuile as it crosses the French-Italian border. This has become a favorite spot for the adventurous heliski trips into the nearby off piste areas.

La Rosiere has actually been awarded “Famile Plus Montagne” staus by local French authorities, which means it has been recognized as a family friendly resort. There are lots of activities for kids and they hold weekly fireworks displays and candle lit descents.

But don’t think there is nothing for adults La Rosiere does have bars and evening activities for the over 18. The Kitzbuhel bar has a bowling alley, pool table and regular live music as well as the Moo Bar lounge and nightclub.

Transfers to La Rosiere will take about 2 hours 30 minutes from Geneva and about 1 hour 50 minutes from Chambery.

What we like:

  • The late sunshine
  • The snow sure skiing
  • The Kitzbuhel bar
  • Weekly fireworks displays
  • Great family facilities
  • Excellent ski schools
